Ashlee Austin, LICSW
Ashlee is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are, feel understood without judgment, and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Her warm, collaborative, and person-centered approach recognizes that you are the expert on your own life, and she works alongside clients to identify strengths and create a path toward meaningful change.
Ashlee specializes in body image concerns, eating disorders, complicated relationships with food and movement, chronic or restrictive dieting, fear of weight gain, low self-esteem, and weight stigma. As a Certified Body Trust® Specialist, she helps clients challenge the influence of diet culture, societal expectations, racism, and unrealistic beauty standards while building greater body respect, trust, and neutrality without the pressure to love their bodies every day.
Ashlee is committed to BIPOC-centered care, anti-oppressive practice, and health equity. She strives to create a trauma-informed, affirming space that honors each person’s identity, culture, lived experiences, and individual needs. She also supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
Drawing from self-compassion theory, CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based practices, and solution-focused approaches, Ashlee helps clients develop coping strategies, strengthen boundaries, manage stress, and navigate difficult emotions with greater self-understanding. She believes meaningful growth does not require being harder on yourself, but rather approaching change with patience, care, and compassion.
Outside of therapy, Ashlee enjoys spending time with her dog, Sage, traveling, crafting, practicing yoga, and getting lost in a good book.
Ashlee is licensed to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
