Kelsey Nichols, MSW, LCSW

Kelsey Nichols, MSW, LCSW, a clinical social worker who earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Rhode Island College. Her approach to therapy is client centered and collaborative, where clients are the experts in their own life and therapy is the space where you feel empowered to set the agenda and work towards the goals that are most meaningful. She strives to create a safe, supportive and nonjudgemental environment where clients feel heard.

Kelsey has experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults across a variety of life experiences and challenges. Her experience includes supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression. As well as emotional regulation, family and relationship dynamics and challenges that can accompany aging and cognitive changes including dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Her work is to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring concerns, developing coping strategies, and working toward meaningful change.

Her approach incorporates strength based, person centered and trauma informed. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her approach, as well as other evidenced based practices. Kelsey views therapy as a collaborative process while recognizing client’s strengths and feeling empowered working toward meaningful change.
